Citizenship is a relationship between an individual and the government, in the United States of America citizenship is given to a legal member of the United States, which brings rights, duties, privileges and benefits including federal assistance.

Civic and military participation is not required for US citizen. Obeying law and jury duty is generally consider a duty, people who are breaking the laws in some cases can be striped their citizenship.

A maximum of 50,000 will eventually obtain immigrant visas or green card. The remaining 50,000 initially chosen won’t qualify for the visas for several reasons. What this also means is that there won’t be a sufficient number of visas for all of those who are initially selected.
All applicants who are selected will be informed promptly by postal service (not e-mail) of their place on the list, or they can determine their winning status online.
DV 2011 Projections
Every month the State Department determines how many visas will be issued (numbers permitting) to those applicants who are ready for issuance either by having completed the appropriate forms and submitting documents within the United States., via CIS, or abroad to United States. consular offices.
The State Department will assign each application to one of six geographic regions of the world: 1) Africa, 2) Asia, 3) EU, 4) North America, 5) Oceania, and 6) South America, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Of course, some of these regions contain countries that are ineligible for a particular year’s DV lottery.
Once selected, each application will be assigned an application number. This number will determine where on the list an applicant stands within his/her country and region of origin. For some applicants, it’s nothing more than an identification characteristic; for others it will actually determine when and if they can receive an immigrant visa or green card

The Free Green Card Lottery is an official program set by the United States Government and has been approved by US Congress. The Program was design to give opportunity for immigrants to live and work in the US and selected randomly by a computer based program.
Winner of the Free Green Card have the opportunity to live permanently in the US with his spouse and any children under 21-years old who are not yet married.

To enter the Green Card Lottery, applicant must register online via website. The US Embassy will only provide information about Free Green Card Lottery and won’t accept application.
Applicant must check if they are qualified to enter the lottery or not. Every year the US Government will issue ineligible country to enter the Green Card Lottery. Only one application per person is allowed. Applications must include biographical, contact, employment, education and family information.
The minimum requirement beside eligible country is applicants must minimum have a high school diploma or equivalent. Alternatively must have two years of working experience within the last five years in a job that requires at least two years of training or experience to perform.
After confirmed eligibility, the next step is to register, submit application online. Applicant will be asked to provide photos complete with all family member applying, such as spouse and children.
Registration is open each fall and lottery winners are notified by mail the following spring/summer.
