American Green Card – DV 2012

The DV 2012 program makes visas available to persons meeting simple, but strict, eligibility requirements. A computer-generated, random lottery drawing chooses selectees for American Green Card.

The Green Cards are distributed among six geographic regions, country which have lower rates of immigrant in the past years will grant greater number of green cards, in the other hand no green card will be grant to nationals of countries that sent more than 50,0000 immigrants to the United Stated in the past five years.

There will be no country that receive more than seven percent of the available DVs in any one year from each region.

For DV 2012, the following countries are not eligible to appy:

• El Salvador
• Guatemala
• Haiti
• India
• Jamaica
• Mexico
• Pakistan
• Peru
• Philippines
• Poland
• South Korea
• United Kingdom (except Northern Ireland)
• Vietnam

If you are from this country, you may still participate in the DV 2012 if :

• If your spouse was born in an eligible country, then you can claim your spouse’s country of birth.
• If one of your parents was born in an eligible country, then you can claim your parent’s country of birth.
